Nah. They still play, although Ed is the only original member these days.
They just toured this past summer, although it was an very poorly advertised tour, so there wasn't much turnout. And they managed to hit the road BEFORE their new album came out, so they couldn't even sell that or promote it really.
Kind of sad. They just seem plagued with poor management and some big egos, which is kind of ruining the magic they once had.

Anyhow - that aside, their most recent album "the floor's too far away" is pretty good.
it is tight and sounds good and explores some nice new ground.
although there are many tracks which kind of feel like they are condensing chunks of previous albums into one new song, which is both enjoyable and oddly off-putting at the same time.

That's sad, you made me hesitant to buy the album <g> I mean, I will anyway, but you made me 2nd guess myself! I hate when bands do that. I saw them at a bar in Allston (outside of Boston, MA) a while back. I was very impressed with the live stuff. More wacko than the CDs. I went with some Non musical friends (I can't remember why) who were annoyed cause there were "no words". I ducked my friends and got lost in the crowd. Very cool. Then I lost them! Didn't hear anything about them till here.

Oh well, shame, I'll get the CD and check it out. Thanks for the heads up!

        Yeah hey...
I certainly did not mean to discourage you from getting their newest album.
I am coming from a slighty aged and jaded point of view on all this.
I have been into the Ozrics since 1993 and first saw them in 1994, at the end of what many long time fans would consider their heyday.
Thru all their ups and downs I have stuck with em, but they have lost much of the magic they seemed to once exude - however, part of that may be my own age and changing tastes in music, but I do feel much of it stems from the fact that the Ozrics of today isn't as much of a "band" (ie a group of like-minded and talented musicians all fusing together to create a unique sound) these days, as it is Ed Wynn's project, where he writes pretty much everything and has various people play on albums and sometimes other people play live.

It is just a very different entity - even though the major and main creative force, Ed, is still the head of the many tentacled Ozric.

Oh, and if and when they tour again, see them! They still put on a fantastic show and deserve support!

There new album "The Floor's Too Far Away" is quite good actually. It has a more "live" feel than "Spirals", though still carries on the psyrock/ techno feel they (Ed) have been exploring for the last ten years.
